Handscomb Pets Limited began in 2005 by Barbara Handscomb, who at the time was frustrated by the lack of variety available in Horley. From that, and with her husband Steve, they started their first pet shop, High Street Pets, which is located in Horleys’ High Street.

From day one, we have always strived to provide not only value-for-money with products, but a service which simply cannot be beaten; We want every one of our customers to leave our shop happy, and are more than willing to carry heavy sacks to your car.

Our commitment to service is our number one aim. In July 2008 we was saddened to hear that a well established pet shop in Crawley was closing; Having spent the previous year considering our next move, this seemed an ideal time to expand, and immediately began negotiations with Squires Garden Centre to take over the on site pet shop. Within a week we was open for business.

Our shops carry traditional stock, such as dog & cat food, accessories, beds, leads etc and the ‘usual’ pets like rabbits, guinea pigs and rats; Our Horley Shop, run by our Manager Emma (who previously owned Woodhatch Parrots) specialises in avian pets and products, whereas our Crawley shop specialises in a full range of reptile products and animals.

Both Barbara and Steve are very active in the business, and together with all of our staff (who are more like family!) we would love you to become part of our fast-growing customer base, and hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you soon.
